PRACTICE CONCENTRATIONS:

Labor and Employment. All aspects of labor and employment law, including counseling and litigating all employment-related issues, developing policies and procedures to respond to changing legal requirements, developing strategies to protect competitive interests, confidential information and trade secrets, negotiating and drafting individual executive and employment contracts, and agreements relating to governance of small and mid-sized businesses, nonprofits and private schools.

Litigation. All forms of employment, commercial and other civil litigation, including discrimination litigation, ERISA litigation, disability insurance litigation, complex commercial litigation, securities arbitration, construction litigation, real estate disputes, banking litigation, and defamation.

Disability Insurance. Representing insureds in pursuing claims for benefits under short and long term disability insurance policies.
 
Mediation and Arbitration.  Private mediator and arbitrator in numerous employment, ERISA and commercial cases.

Clientele. Substantial exposure to clients in health care, banking, hotel, manufacturing, retail, real estate, construction, printing and publishing, computer services, government, education, nonprofit, securities, transportation and accounting industries.

REPRESENTATIVE ENGAGEMENTS:

• Argued numerous cases in the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Pennsylvania Supreme, Superior and Commonwealth Courts, including issues under the National Labor Relations Act, laws concerning employment discrimination, ERISA, cases concerning employment contracts, non-competes and confidentiality agreements, claims of wrongful discharge, issues involving banking, title insurance, HUD regulations, and various contract and tort claims.

• As lead counsel, tried numerous civil jury and non-jury trials and arbitration hearings to decision.

• Argued Philadelphia Newspapers, Inc. v. Hepps, 475 U.S. 767, l06 S.Ct. l558, 89 L.E.2d 783 (l986), in the United States Supreme Court on behalf of respondents.
